The new commission in Bulgarian federation for automotive sport (BFAS) - Electric vehicles sport and alternative fuel (EVS&AF) started with its work.

The decision for creation of the commission was made on a BFAS Board`s meeting with unanimous decision with Protocol № 015 from 21-9-2016.

The first meeting of EVSAF was hold in Bulgarian industrial chamber – BIA, where the tasks for popularization of electric-vehicles sport in Bulgaria were described.

The creation of the commission was one of the main objectives if BFAS and EVIC included in the Memorandum for partnership signed on 14^th of June 2016.

In EVS&AF are participating the ezpert community of EVIC, BFAS, business, public institutions related with the subject. Chairman of the commission is Kamen Mihaylov – long-standing participant in the automotive sport in Bulgaria.

One of the main tasks is the creation and popularization of National rally for electric vehicles “E-rally Bulgaria”, which will be included in the international racing calendar of  Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

The first such rally could be held in 2017 as “E-rally Bulgaria - Albena”. The race could reborn the famous Bulgarian rally Albena which used to be held from 1970 until 2001. It is envisaged that “E-rally Bulgaria - Albena” to include routs for electric-vehicles about 150-160 km, and for the ones with alternative fuels – 600-650 km. Race duration will be in two days (1^st day with two stages for ranking; 2^nd day final), and the racers will pass different test for ranking. In the rally possible participants are:

·         FIA Alternative electric vehicles, category IIIA;

·         FIA Alternative electric vehicles, category VII and VIII – hybrids and other alternative cars;

·         FIA Alternative energy cup for manufacturer.

In section “sport” FIA includes races with alternative fuels from several years, which are described in “Alternative Energies” section.

Here are some rallies already included in international racing FIA calendar: MCO - Rally Monte Carlo, DEU - ADAS 24h Rennen, ESP - Rally Vasco Navano, ITA - Eco rally, ITA - Eco rally, SRB - Tesla rally, BG - Eco rally Bulgaria, JPN - Solar Car Race Susuki, GRS - Hi Tech Eco, SMR - Eco rally San Marino, SMR - Eco rally San Marino, Canada and others.

These types’ rallies are held in strongly economically developed countries (despite the world economic crises) and some not so well-developed counties but with attitude towards searching for new progressive forms replacing the conventional fuel with alternative. The investment in this direction brings to the society look into the future
