Nomination recruitment for the annual awards -“Kubratov sword” for contribution in development of electric mobility in Bulgaria has begun.
The competition is held for 5th consecutive year where many awards are handed, and “Kubratov sword” award is given for overall contribution in popularization and promotion of electric mobility in Bulgaria.
National branch organization is appeals to everyone how are following the electric mobility development processes, and have direct contact with companies, experts, scientific units and others to send us their nominations.
WHY KUBRATOV SWORD?
Our history is long. Bulgarian people has resisted of time vicissitudes, it had been through Greatness and Fall. The great Khan Kubrat leaves a covenant to his people – “Do not lay aside the jointly coexistence, keep the union between each other and that what is under your rule”. It had been a long time since the Kubrat`s covenant becomes a favorite slogan to European people, and after 1878 it has come back to Bulgaria with Belgium blazon “L'Union fait la force“(“Unity makes strength”). This covenant we shell remember!
Bulgaria continue writing its history – as a European Union`s member. As such it has made its contribution together with 8 more countries-members signing declaration in 2010 and made electric vehicles in the center of the process for sustainable mobility development in Europe.
In 2009 Electric vehicle industrial cluster started its activity. Seventh consecutive year EVIC is industrial organization in Bulgaria which actively works for modern and intelligent electric mobility. This is a clear signal towards the potential investors and the whole society, and application for active participation in the industrial development for sustainable low carbon economy.
Bulgarian industry is part of global world economy and the competitiveness is prerequisite for success. The creation, development and sustainability of a new industry, which is intelligent electric mobility, require union of power, resources and potential.
Because “Unity make strength”!
This is the reason why in 2012 the members in our organization started a tradition – the Annual awards of EVIC for promotion and contribution of the electric mobility in Bulgaria - “Kubratov sword”, where the Grand Prize is a prototype of the sword of Khan Kubrat.
About the awards:
The Grand Prize “Kubratov Mech” is Jewelery made product, a copy of the Original sword of Kubrat and Diplom.
2012 – The first Grand Prize for achievements in 2011 was gift on 29.02.2012 during the initiative of Bulgarian Industrial Association – “Days of Bulgarian industry” part of the Exhibition „Transport & Logistics„ in Inter expo Center. The first awarded company is a member of EVIC - Di Ven LTD, Lom. They were awarded for realization of production of Bulgarian electric car – Pony-1, designed for separate specialized places.
During this first forum with awards were honoured: Transport Electronic-91 LTD, “Green Energy” Consortium represented by BIES LTD, Todor Kableshkov University and Full Charger Bulgaria.
In the next several years the awards became popular in the professional community and were recognition of professional achievements in this new branch – Electric mobility.
2013 – For overall contribution in the Electric mobility in Bulgaria was awarded the University of Rousse – “Angel Kunchev”. Eco mobility LTD were awarded for contribution in business with EVs and the award for Bulgarian product was gifted to IKEM Corp. for the first Bulgarian charging station working in network.
2014 – With Grand Prize were awarded Transport Electronics – 91 LTD (Plovdiv) for conversion of Citroen Berlingo into electric vehicle. Other awarded were – Schrack Technic (Sofia) for improvement of element basis for charging stations and solar power module a set; Generous Auto (Sofia) as the only importer of Opel Ampera – EV with extended range and for promoting it in the market; Passat Bulgaria (Tsarevo) for engineering and development of fiberglass corps for Bulgarian charging station and Todor Kableshkov University for development of prototype of Bulgarian golf cart.
2015 – During the fourth edition of the Annual EVIC Awards the Grand Prize for a Lifetime Achievement was awarded to Prof. Dr. Encho Popov for development and utilization into production of a basis model synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets and liquid cooling 75 kW, 400V, patented in Bulgaria, EU and USA.
With Diploma for contribution in the field of Electric mobility in Bulgaria were awarded:
Chariot Motors (Sofia) for model realization of Electric bus with ultra-capacitors used in Sofia urban transport; Haycad Infotech (Plovdiv) for model realization of education of specialized software for design, in partnership with Rousse University “Angel Kunchev”.
With Diploma for Bulgarian product were awarded:
Transport Electronics – 91 LTD (Plovdiv) for system for electric propulsion of EVwith synchronous electric motors with permanent magnets 50 kW / 25 kW and 300B / 144B (the system is available for series production); Shumen – Passenger auto transport for conversion of conventional bus into electric bus; ATM Center (Sofia) for model realization of small urban electric car Yogomo into tourism business; Avto Oil (Sofia) for model realization of small urban electric car Yogomo into tourism business;
With Diploma for contribution in Science and Education in EM were awarded:
Prof. Ivan Milenov for development of original electric propulsion for Bulgarian golf cart; Doc. George Chervendinev for development innovative design for Bulgarian golf cart; Doc. Dr. Ivan Evtimov (Rousse University) for creation of the first Bulgarian textbooks for “Electric Vehicles” Discipline on which the students in Master programe are studying on.

The Experts of EVIC will define the awards to be awarded. The Awarding ceremony will be held in April 2016 during the Exhibition MachTech&InnoTech in Inter Expo Center.
