On 12 April, a hydrogen business event took place in Sofia. The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking with the expertise of the Roland Berger Strategic Advisory Group organizes a workshop on Eastern Europe in Sofia to define the interests of introducing hydrogen technologies and to help with appropriate models and mechanisms for their introduction.
Organizer for Bulgaria was the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems at BAS - (IEEE), a member of IKEM.
The meeting was held in one of the buildings of the Sofia Municipality (Paris 1 Street) and was opened by Elica Panayotova - coordinator of the Green Sofia project. On the invitation of the organizers, representatives of ECMM took part in the meeting.
The niches that interest Sofia and the regions are transport (including charging stations) and energy (heating) for homes. At the last working meeting with Roland Berger in Brussels on March 23, it was understood that the problem is not so much in technology, they have reached a very high level of readiness (ie NTG) and in the absence of a producer. The regions have responded that there are companies willing to invest in production. There are also such companies in Bulgaria. Things to work on are finding suitable programs for small businesses.
On May 28, the Central and East European Hydrogen Summit was organized as part of a satellite event to the Bulgarian Presidency. Organizer is the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking with co-organizers: BAS, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Education and Science, Sofia Municipality, Euro-MP Petar Korumbashev.
The event will be held in the building of the National Palace of Culture (NPC). Two hydrogen cars will travel the distance from Brussels to Sofia, after which they will stay for 2 weeks in Sofia.
